In order to strengthen the Singappen Special Force (SSF) and provide a mechanism for emergency calls and quick response, Helpline 1091 has been designated the dedicated helpline. 1091 has also been integrated with the 112 Emergency Response System to ensure faster response and seamless coordination during emergencies.The SSF was established as a specialised force dedicated to preventing crimes against women and children, providing immediate assistance to victims and enhancing visible policing in vulnerable locations.Director General of Police and Head of Police Force Mahesh Kumar Agarwal said in a press release that the designation of 1091 as the dedicated SSF Helpline provides women and children with a single, easily accessible point of contact for seeking police assistance. To ensure prompt attention to every distress call, additional dedicated call-attending desks were established at the State Police Master Control Room exclusively for SSF Helpline 1091. These desks function round-the-clock and are manned by trained personnel to receive complaints, assess emergencies, and facilitate immediate response. Whenever a call is received through the helpline, the information is instantly shared with the concerned district police control room and the nearest Singappen Special Force team or patrol unit. The responding team reaches the location at the earliest, provides assistance to the victim, ensures safety, and coordinates further action wherever necessary.The police department said the integration of the helpline with the 112 Emergency Response System enables quicker communication, better coordination, and continuous monitoring of complaints until appropriate action is taken. Women and children facing harassment, violence, abuse, stalking, intimidation, or any situation requiring immediate police intervention are encouraged to contact SSF Helpline 1091 without hesitation.
