The June 8 Mindanao earthquake leaves only ruin and anguish for students and teachers at Adelina T. Recto Elementary School in Glan, Sarangani

SARANGANI, Philippines – Adelina T. Recto Elementary School principal Gerlita Wata tells Rappler the school barely has enough to start over and resume classes after a powerful Mindanao earthquake destroyed all their classrooms in Glan, Sarangani, on June 8.

Still carrying out her duties as school head, Wata tends to concerned students and parents from her “new office,” a bare space in front of a now-condemned school building.
