For even the most denim devout — like myself — wearing jeans through the summer can be deeply unpleasant to say the least. The discomfort of feeling stiff, heavy, rigid cotton plastered against your legs on sweltering streets and subway platforms only makes sweaty commutes worse. While I’ll occasionally make do and suffer through a day of humidity in jeans, most summers I bid my pile of 20 pairs adieu for the season in lieu of linens, poplin pants, and a bevy of midi skirts.
