IRVINE, Calif. — Christian Pulisic participated in full U.S. men’s national team training for the 15 minutes open to the media on Monday ahead of Thursday’s World Cup group finale against Turkey. It’s a sign that the U.S. star is on his way to being fully cleared, no matter if he features in the match at SoFi Stadium or not. U.S. Soccer declined to give official word on his status beyond what was able to be witnessed on the training field at Great Park.Pulisic, 27, missed Friday’s 2-0 win over Australia with a left calf injury. The star winger, who set up the Americans’ first two goals in their 4-1 win over Paraguay, left the game with tightness in his calf after taking a kick during the game. That compounded an issue that started with a knock he took in training earlier in the week. After the game, Pulisic expressed optimism it wouldn’t be a bigger issue and that coming out of the game was “precautionary.”“I’m hoping I’ll be fine the next few days,” he said.Over the next week, Pulisic’s day-to-day status was under the microscope. The winger took part in “modified training sessions” in which he worked in the gym at the training center and individually on an adjacent practice field. Cameras tracked him running through resistance training and doing light ball work.
