A Canadian golfer got a Monday morning shock when ABC News mixed up which athlete named David Hearn was arrested at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C.
The American news outlet reported that Hearn, a three-time U.S. Olympian in canoeing, was arrested Friday for reportedly touching a detached material from the bottom of the pool, though they mistakenly used a photo of a Brampton-born golfer of the same name. The photo attached to the article was shared on the company’s social media on Sunday and generated nearly 200,000 views as of Monday morning.
