RB Leipzig have appointed Martin Demichelis as their new head coach.Demichelis, 45, joins from Spanish side Mallorca, where he was appointed head coach in February 2026.The former Argentinian international, who played for Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, has signed a two-year contract until 2028, replacing previous head coach Ole Werner, who left the club last week.Announcing the appointment, Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schaefer said:“Martin Demichelis brings experience of working at the highest level as both a player and manager in Europe, South America and North America. That international perspective is an excellent fit for RB Leipzig and our global outlook.”
