For one woman, her family’s entire world was turned upside down when her grandmother made a shocking admission just moments before she died.Her grandma had always been known as eccentric, but the family assumed that extended no further than unusual hobbies and odd collections. However, it turns out her past may have been far more colourful than anyone ever imagined.Responding to the Reddit question, “People who have heard deathbed confessions, what were some interesting ones?”, the woman wrote: “My grandma confessed to murder on her deathbed. Usually you’d think it was the pain relief, but she was such an eccentric it was actually believable."We traced all her ex-husbands, partners and any other likely candidates and fortunately no one was missing or died an untimely death, but sometimes I wonder...”As her grandmother died just moments later, the family never got the chance to ask any follow-up questions - leaving them with a mystery they may never solve.Commenting on the post, one user said: “Maybe she said that as a final way to prank the whole family.”Another added: “It could have been a hit and run maybe?”A third wrote: “Maybe it could have been an aborted child? I have heard this pain and guilt from mothers before. Only a thought.”But it turns out she isn’t the only person to have heard a chilling confession from someone on their deathbed.A nurse also recalled her horror after a dying patient admitted to a lifetime of violent crime - and then helped police investigate a series of unsolved cases before he passed away.In his final days, the man confessed he had once been a gang hitman who carried out contract killings for money. Wanting to clear his conscience, he also offered to tell police where the bodies were buried so the victims’ families could finally get answers.Article continues belowThe nurse said: “We had an ex-gang guy who was dying of cancer and he confessed that he was the gang hit-man for many years.“He wanted to confess to all the killings and show the police where the bodies are buried. He would get closure knowing that the surviving families of his victims find out where they were buried.“We had to get the hospital legal team involved because we had no policies to deal with that.
