An 87-acre data center called 'Project Tallmadge' is to be built in Strasburg, Virginia.
Developer Takanock is proposing the development of a 180MW campus near Interstate 81’s Exit 296 and the Mercury Paper facility.

According to the Town of Strasburg, the land parcel is zoned for industrial use, meaning the “data center use is by-right,” according to the town’s website about the data center.
Additional permitting for the site is set to be complete by Q3 2027, and construction will begin in that same quarter, according to a fact sheet about the data center made by Takanock.
