EThekwini mayor Cyril Xaba has been hauled by uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) MP Visvin Reddy before the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC).
With only a matter of months to go before the Local Government Elections some believe that the recent “un-African” comments by eThekwini mayor Cyril Xaba about South Africans of Indian descent could hurt the ANC at the polls.
Political analyst Professor Ntsikelelo Breakfast is among those commentators who hold such a view that the ANC-aligned Xaba's actions might have inadvertently hurt his party's chances of wooing the so called "Indian vote".
A video showing Xaba lashing out verbally at Yeshelen Govender has been widely circulated on social media platforms, Breakfast has since shared his views on the mounting criticism against the mayor.
