Proteas fast bowler Lungi Ngidi has put country before franchise cricket after rejigging his playing commitments ahead of South Africa’s new season.
Ngidi has opted out of Major League Cricket (MLC) to focus on his fitness and ensure he is fully prepared for a demanding international schedule.
The Proteas quick comes off a busy campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he played 12 matches for the Delhi Capitals.
With South Africa set to face Australia, Bangladesh and England during the upcoming season, the onus will be on Ngidi to be firing on all cylinders.
