The Iranians secured a 0-0 draw against Belgium in their last group match which gives them a chance of reaching the knockout stages.‌The match took place to a backdrop of tension between the USA and Iran, which saw President Donald Trump threaten to "hit Iran very hard again". This post came amid Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz again after they accused the US and Israel of violating their recent ceasefire.‌After the Iranian football team's draw with the Belgians, a hand-written note was discovered in their dressing room. May peace, respect and friendship prevail among all nations," while also including the phrases “#168” and “#Minab” in reference to the strike.It's the second time the Iranian players have paid tribute to the 168 people who were killed in the air strike.
