NHIDCL has informed that repair and restoration of the road will take a few days to complete. The road along the Shillong-Dawki road will remain closed for public and vehicular movement from Laitlyngkot village onwards with immediate effect and until further notice by the District Administration. Avoid travelling through the Shillong–Dawki Road beyond Laitlyngkot Village during the period of road closure."The district administration stated ,"Rainwater washed away a portion of the road below Laitlyngkot town, around 35 km south of Shillong.
