7 women dead after Ammonia gas leak at Tamil Nadu seafood factory
Seven women lost their lives after a major ammonia gas leak at a seafood processing unit near Periyapalayam, Tamil Nadu. A total of 67 workers were affected, with several in critical condition and shifted to Chennai hospitals. The state government has ordered an inquiry into the incident and launched a probe into possible safety lapses and the suspected valve failure.
