A mass Yoga programme under way in Raichur on Sunday as part of the 12th International Yoga Day event.

A mass Yoga programme was organised in Raichur to mark the 12th International Yoga Day on Sunday.Commissioner of Information Commission in Kalaburagi B. Venkata Singh, Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri and Assistant Commissioner of Raichur Sub-Division Hampanna Sajjan inaugurated the programme at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium.“Yoga is a divine medicine that brings health to the body, joy to the mind and keeps you active. Yoga is an excellent tool for maintaining physical, mental and spiritual health and everyone, from students to employees, should incorporate Yoga into their daily lives,” Mr. Singh said.A Yoga teacher taught various asanas to the participants. As part of the 12th International Yoga Day celebrations, various competitions were organised and the winners of the competitions, boys and girls of various age groups, were honoured with certificates and medals.The district administration, the Zilla Panchayat, the Mahanagar Palike, the AYUSH Department, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department jointly organised the programme.
