Christo van der Rheede, executive director of the FW de Klerk Foundation, has written to US President Donald Trump urging him to reverse PEPFAR funding cuts to SA
The FW de Klerk Foundation has sent a letter to United States President Donald Trump on Sunday, telling him to keep his hands off South Africa's HIV funding.
The foundation said cutting the funding would leave millions of sick and vulnerable people paying the price for a political fight that has nothing to do with them.
The letter, seen by IOL, was addressed directly to Trump, with copies sent to the State Department and US ambassador to SA Leo Brent Bozell III.
"The withdrawal of PEPFAR infrastructure does not penalise a political party," the foundation's executive director, Christo van der Rheede, wrote.
