The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has disowned a forged press release circulating online claiming the postponement of its 2026 recruitment exercises.
In a notice posted on its X account on Sunday, the board stamped the purported release with a large red “FAKE” watermark.
It urged prospective applicants and the general public to disregard the document.
The counterfeit notice, purportedly issued by the CDCFIB’s Office of the Secretary, claimed that “the 2026 recruitment exercises had been postponed due to administrative rearrangements.”
It directed applicants to “wait until November 2026 for further details and advised them not to pay any fees to individuals or groups promising early access.” Related News Recruitment: FG clarifies dress code for NSCDC, NIS, NCoS medical screening Morning Recap: APC shuts door on review of primary results, ex-generals blame FG for former Army spokesman’s death, other top stories Board releases lists of successful NSCDC, NIS, NCoS applicants
