Since autumn 2024, AMD and Intel have been cooperating in the x86 Ecosystem Advisory Group, also to strengthen themselves against competitors like ARM and RISC-V. Now the jointly developed specification for new x86 processor instructions, which are intended to accelerate the processing of AI algorithms, has been released: The AI Compute Extensions, or “ACE” for short.
