Customers of the high street bank may want to take note of several important dates approaching in the coming months.An individual contacted the bank via social media, claiming they had previously seen a Halifax advert where the bank pledged not to close any branches. They questioned whether this was the fact, after Lloyds Banking Group recently announced it would close 79 branches, including 48 Halifax branches and 31 Lloyds Bank branches.This includes several Halifax closures scheduled for June. Addressing the question, Halifax responded: "We understand your concern."We're not closing all branches, but some changes have been necessary based on how customers are choosing to bank. A Lloyds Banking Group spokesperson said: "With access to one of the biggest branch networks in the UK, alongside local banking options like our community bankers, the Post Office, PayPoint, plus our leading apps and 24/7 messaging service, we offer our customers more choice and convenience than ever before."The provider said that with the 79 branches recently announced for closure, more than three quarters have another Lloyds Banking Group branch situated less than a mile away. Over nine in 10 of the shutting branches have an alternative outlet within a five-mile radius.The group also said that when making decisions regarding its branch network, it takes into account how customers use their branches, as well as the other banking options available to account holders.
