Police are linking a pre-dawn petrol bomb attack in Thessaloniki Sunday with the previous targeting of a former senior prison official who lives close by, state ERT television said.
No injuries or major damage were reported from the attack in the northern city’s Sykies district, and no arrests were made. ERT said an improvised explosive device had exploded last year near the former prison official’s home, causing extensive damage.
ERT quoted a witness as saying two people seen at the spot just before the attack are believed to have escaped on a motorbike. Police are seeking camera footage from the area.
