The Adeleke family gathered in Ede, Osun State, on Thursday and Friday for the engagement and traditional wedding of Ibukunoluwa, daughter of the late Senator Isiaka Adeleke and Adenike, and her spouse, Ibukunoluwakitan Feyijimi.
One of the most emotional moments of the ceremony came when Adedeji Adeleke, billionaire businessman and father of afrobeats star Davido, stepped in to perform the symbolic role of father of the bride during the traditional rites. Acting as the family patriarch, he formally handed over his niece to her husband in a culturally significant and emotional gesture.
Addressing the couple and guests, Adedeji said, “You can see she is in one piece, beautiful. I hand over my beautiful daughter to you, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.”
Ibukunoluwa beamed with smiles throughout the ceremony as she was officially handed over to her husband, while family members and guests looked on in celebration.
