Denis Undav eventually levelled matters for Germany in the second half, with the forward then on the spot to convert late on.The win has seen Germany seal their spot in the next round, while top spot could also soon be confirmed, while the Ivory Coast still have work to do to book their spot in the last round.Germany had the best chance of the opening stages as Havertz went close with a header which was well saved by Yahia FofanaDespite that early scare, the the Ivory Coast quickly found their feet. And it was predictably Diomande who was the creator.Afforded far too much room down the left flank, his cross found its way to Amad Diallo, who had an effort blocked. But it fell to Kessie and the midfielder prodded home.Ange-Yoan Bonny could have doubled his side's lead but saw a curling effort saved by Manuel Neuer. That's when Germany thought they had hauled themselves level. Havertz curled home a brilliant strike but the referee cancelled the goal due to a foul on Emmanuel Agbadou earlier in the move.Germany's pressure continued to crank up throughout the second period and Havertz went closest to an equaliser as his header dropped just off target. And it took two substitutes to combine for the Europeans to haul themselves level. Amiri expertly picked out fellow introductee Undav - the former Brighton striker firing home with a lethal finish. Amiri should have stolen three points in stoppage time but fired a tame effort straight at the goalkeeper.Undav proved to be the matchwinner for the Germans as he netted deep into stoppage time to seal top spot in the group by latching onto Felix Nmecha's brilliant pass and converting coolly.Germany will now look forward to a clash with Ecuador next week, while the Ivory Coast take on Curacao still not assured of their spot in the next round.Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
