A member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Afam Ogene

The minority caucus of the House of Representatives has appointed the member representing Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Afam Ogene, as its new spokesperson.

The appointment was approved during an online meeting of the caucus held on Friday, according to a statement signed by the Minority Leader of the House, Fredrick Agbedi.

Announcing the decision, the caucus described Ogene as a ranking lawmaker with extensive parliamentary experience and a strong record in public communication.

“Hon. Ogene is the Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress caucus in the House of Representatives and represents Ogbaru Federal Constituency of Anambra State. A ranking legislator and respected parliamentarian, Hon. Ogene brings to the role a wealth of legislative experience, deep understanding of parliamentary procedure, and an unflinching commitment to the defence of democratic ideals,” the statement read in part.
