NewsUK NewsCrimeThe incident took place outside a Co-op supermarket and police say it involved a white Volkswagen Polo later abandoned by its driver and passenger16:18, 20 Jun 2026A man is in hospital with life-changing injuries after he was "deliberately driven at" and "trapped against a wall", police said.Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the alleged incident, which police said took place just before 10pm on Friday, June 19, outside a Co-op supermarket on Fircroft Road, Ipswich.Suffolk Constabulary said that the reported crash took place following an alleged earlier altercation involving the 20-year-old victim and the driver and passenger of a white Volkswagen Polo.The car was then reportedly driven at the victim "deliberately", trapping him against a wall.The police said the driver and passenger then abandoned the car and fled the scene on foot, with the parties believed to be known to each other.The 20-year-old man sustained open leg fractures which are described as life-changing.
