Activists of the Maharashtra Ekikaran Samiti (MES), who were on their way to Kolhapur to meet Union Minister Amit Shah, allegedly to complain about “injustice” to Marathi speakers, were stopped by the Belagavi police on Saturday.According to sources, the police stopped the MES leaders and activists at Hattaragi Toll Naka. They reportedly wanted to complain that the Karnataka government was snubbing them continuously on language issues, sources said.The police said that the group was stopped from proceeding further as a precautionary measure.Mr. Shah had a scheduled visit to Kolhapur on Saturday.
