A former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Chidi Odinkalu, has berated Justice Peter Lifu over his controversial judgment in which the judge ordered the de-registration of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and four other political parties.

Odinkalu accused Justice Lifu of exhibiting “criminal dishonesty” and described his conduct as “extraordinarily pathological.”

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, June 20, Odinkalu criticised the reasoning contained in Justice Lifu’s judgment, alleging that the court ignored basic procedural principles and binding judicial orders.
