District Collector M. Abishikth Kishore on Saturday (June 20, 2026) directed officials to ensure that the NEET (UG)-2026 examination, scheduled for Sunday (June 21), is conducted in a transparent and foolproof manner across the district.During a review meeting held at the Collectorate on Saturday, attended by the Joint Collector, Police, CRPF, and Education Department officials, he stressed on the need to avoid any untoward incidents.Addressing the meeting, Mr. Kishore stated that 8,015 candidates are expected to appear for the exam across 18 centres in the district. The examination is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., with an additional hour provided for candidates with disabilities. The Collector clarified that the gates of the examination centres will be closed strictly at 1:30 p.m., advising candidates to arrive well in advance.He stated that the administration has mandated the provision of essential services, including drinking water, uninterrupted power, sanitation, and medical facilities at all centres. Security arrangements for the transport of confidential exam materials are in place, with duty magistrates, dedicated vehicles, and police and CRPF personnel deployed to maintain law and order.
