In a chat with FirstPost, the Hero star revealed that there was a time, when his household ran on a meagre sum of Rs 30. When asked on how he dealt with financial struggles, the actor revealed “I’ve been down into 30 rupees mein ghar chala. Hota hai na? Bahot sambhalke chalana padta hai. Saade saat rupya toh us waqt fees hua I think. Saade saat ya usse kam tha usse bhi. Yeah, that kind of school. So you manage, you manage with everything. Everybody lives, an ant lives, an elephant lives. So in between, if you come from an ant to an elephant, you know, there’s something at both the ends…” he said. He also explained that wealth was cyclical and as an entrepreneur you will have to cope with failures and learn from your mistakes. The actor rose to stardom in the late 80s. However, the actor experienced financial ruin when his production Boom (which incidentally was Katrina Kaif’s debut vehicle) became a colossal flop. However, he eventually extricated himself from poverty and re-emerged as one of the wealthiest men in the industry. In a chat with Zero1 Hustle, Shroff’s wife Ayesha revealed how investing Rs 1 lakh in Sony Entertainment Television, when they began their operations in India, transformed their lives. She explained that the venture began with a small team of just seven individuals. While the group contributed in different ways, Jackie Shroff’s popularity and public image added considerable value and visibility to the project. Over time, Jackie and the other investors chose to withdraw from the business, and the decision proved to be exceptionally rewarding financially.According to Ayesha, the returns they received far exceeded their original investment, multiplying their capital many times over. When the interviewer suggested that the profit might have been around 200 percent, she clarified that the gains were substantially higher. To illustrate the scale of the success, she compared it to a hypothetical scenario in which an investment of ₹1 lakh grows into ₹100 crore, emphasizing just how extraordinary the outcome was during that period.As per a GQ report, Shroff’s net worth is over Rs 212 crores.
