Blessing Ibunge in Port Harcourt
The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, has disclosed that the commission has trained about 500 youths in CNG and auto gas conversion.
The NDDC boss also disclosed the shift from traditional fossil fuels to cleaner energy sources, particularly natural gas, to create economic opportunities for the Niger Delta region.
Ogbuku who spoke during a courtesy visit by the Coordinating Director of the Decade of Gas Initiative, Mr. Ed Ubong, at the NDDC’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, yesterday, said that the commission was harnessing the Niger Delta region’s abundant natural resources to drive economic growth and sustainable development.
The Managing Director stated that the commission has consistently aligned its programmes with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, particularly by promoting gas utilisation and the adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
