Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar inaugurated additional classrooms built with MPLADS funds and a dining hall constructed under the aegis of ITC Bangaru Bhavishyath project at SKBMM High School in Guntur West constituency. On the occasion, Mr. Chandra Sekhar said the government schools were being strengthened to help the poor and the middle classes in meeting the educational needs of their children. Noting that the SKBMM High School was a historic institution established in 1966 and currently having 770 students, he said that there was a time when classes had to be conducted under tin-roofed sheds due to paucity of funds.Though 10 rooms were built under Nadu-Nedu previously, four rooms remained incomplete and several other works have since been pending. Taking this into consideration, he said he sanctioned ₹45 lakh of MPLADS funds for completing constructions. The dining hall was built with approximately ₹18 lakh provided by the ITC.
