The distribution of sensitive election materials began early on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti as preparations gathered momentum for the Ekiti State Governorship election holding today.
At the Registration Area Centre (RAC) located at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Primary School, electoral officials were seen sorting and dispatching sensitive materials to various polling units across Ado-Ekiti Local Government Area.
Security was visibly heightened at the centre, with a heavy deployment of combined security officers ensuring orderly movement of election materials and officials.
By 7:15 a.m., voters had begun arriving at several polling units within the local government area, awaiting the commencement of the voting process. At Polling Unit 9, Ward 11, election materials had already been delivered alongside National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving as ad hoc election officials as well as Police officers and NSCDC officers assigned to provide security.
