Solon: Duterte’s possible absence in impeachment trial can be a strategy

MANILA, Philippines — As the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte is set to begin in July, House Deputy Speaker Paolo Ortega V on Saturday stressed the importance of Duterte’s attendance in the proceedings.

He noted that her possible absence constitutes a “strategy” for the defense team.

Ortega made these remarks during the Saturday News Forum when asked if he is expecting Duterte to attend the much-awaited trial.
