Japanese animation studio MAPPA unveiled a new trailer of Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc on Friday (June 19, 2026) during its 15th anniversary event which was livestreamed.The trailer follows the next major story arc after the events of Chainsaw Man- The Movie: Reze Arc, which came out last year. This time, the titular protagonist Denji faces a team of deadly assassins from around the world, as the trailer showcases a bunch of eerie visuals featuring other characters.MAPPA didn’t confirm if the project will be released as an anime series or a stand-alone film.Based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, Chainsaw Man first premiered in 2022 and became MAPPA’s biggest productions. It tells the story of a teenager Denji, who gains the powers of the Chainsaw Devil after merging with his pet devil Pochita.The International Assassins Arc is among the manga’s largest storylines which features a host of new characters, dominating villains and intense battles. The story extends into a far more darker territory as the group of assassins target Denji and the Chainsaw Devil’s heart.During the anniversary event livestream, MAPPA also revealed a new mobile game based on Chainsaw Man for iOS and android devices. Planned to have a worldwide release, the game will also feature an official English version. Its release date has not been unveiled yet.Chainsaw Man: Assassins Arc will be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who also helmed the 2025 movie.
