Deal Could Be Days Away
According to a report in the Financial Times, the all-cash deal could be announced as soon as Monday next week – June 22. It would reflect a 60% premium on the closing price of Apogee of $90.38 on Thursday, June 18. The U.S. markets were closed today for Juneteenth.
If the deal comes off it will be one of AbbVie’s biggest acquisitions since it bought Allergan Aesthetics six years ago.
Apogee is dedicated to advancing biologic treatments for conditions such as atopic dermatitis (AD), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and a range of other inflammatory and immunological disorders.
It has a strong drug pipeline, including one treatment for a painful condition called atopic dermatitis (AD) that causes itchy and inflamed skin. Globally, over 200 million people live with AD, the most common form of eczema.
