A man suspected of spying for Russia at a drone manufacturing plant that supplies products to the French and Ukrainian armies has been taken into custody in France.
According to Ukrinform, Le Figaro reported this, citing the Paris Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor’s office stated that an investigation by France’s General Directorate for Internal Security found that the suspect had allegedly sent videos to a contact in Russia.
According to law enforcement officials, the 48-year-old man, a native of Belarus, was detained on June 3 while filming a prototype drone belonging to a company that supplies unmanned aerial vehicles to the French and Ukrainian armies.
Two days after his detention, the Paris Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation on suspicion of undermining the state’s “fundamental interests.”
