ROME — Steadfast on its path to establish Saudi Arabia as a major global fashion hub, the kingdom’s fashion commission is ready to take its efforts to the next level.

On Friday, Saudi Fashion Commission chief executive officer Burak Cakmak said its latest partnership with Italy’s Minerva Hub is key to building a value chain that can cater to the growing appetite for Saudi fashion and brands.

Minerva Hub, which is chaired by fashion entrepreneur Matteo Marzotto, was established in 2022 to protect and support Italian manufacturers across the supply chain that serves high-end fashion. It is home to 21 companies, among them tanneries like Pisa-based Conceria Zuma Pelli Pregiate, bijoux for fashion firms Deadema and high-tech heel manufacturer LTM.

The collaboration with the commission represents a “remarkable” opportunity also for Minerva Hub, Marzotto said. “The significant potential for integration, combined with the dynamism of a country that demonstrates a deep appreciation for beauty, creativity and fashion, makes this initiative particularly meaningful,” he said.
