Capstone Copper Submits Environmental Permit for Mantos Blancos Phase II

Capstone Copper Corp. (“Capstone” or the “Company”) (TSX:CS) (ASX:CSC) today submitted the Mantos Blancos Phase II Project (the “Project”) to the Environmental Impact Assessment (“EIA”) process. The Project represents the next phase of growth and supports the long-term operational continuity of the Mantos Blancos mine in Antofagasta, Chile.

Project Details

Mantos Blancos Phase II contemplates an expansion of the sulphide concentrator plant throughput capacity to at least 27,000 ore tonnes per day (“tpd”), from the current design throughput capacity of 20,000 tpd. The expansion considers new equipment for concentrate filtration, thickening and filtering of tailings, as well as upgrades to existing process operations.

In addition, the Project supports future operations of Mantos Blancos by contemplating the construction and operation of a new in-pit tailings storage facility beyond 2030 while strengthening environmental management of the operation's existing baseline conditions.
