The Bihar Police on Friday (June 19, 2026) conducted searches on the premises of Bihar cadre IAS officers, Yogesh Sagar and Abhilasha Kumari Sharma, in connection with the alleged tender scam.Both officers are facing the departmental proceedings and currently suspended for their involvement in the alleged tender scam.The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) of the State police carried out the searches at various locations in Patna.One team conducted searches at Yogesh Sagar’s residence in Gardanibagh locality, whereas another team searched the Nehru Path residence of Abhilasha Kumari Sharma. However, during the searches, neither of the IAS officers were present at their respective residences. The SVU team also visited the residence of Pawan Kumar, Director of Matriswa Infra Private Limited, a construction company located in S.K. Vihar Colony near Beur in Patna district.Both the IAS officers were named in a tender scam allegedly executed by a contractor, Rishu Ranjan Sinha, alias Rishu Shree. According to sources, the contractor had sponsored foreign trips for Sagar and his eight relatives in exchange for contracts, and constructed a garden costing ₹9 lakh for Ms. Sharma.Suspension orderThe Bihar General Administration Department placed the two officers under suspension on May 30, 2026. It said the action was based on documents and evidence, as well as statements from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) via the SVU, and in the wake of allegations of bribery, commission, and undue benefits.Before being suspended, Mr. Sagar was serving as Director (Disability) in the Social Welfare Department whereas Ms. Sharma was Additional Chief Executive Officer, JEEViKA, in the Rural Development Department.Rishu Shree is currently in police custody, and the searches are believed to be based on his input given to the police.
