Jerusalem, June 19 (EFE).- Israeli and US media outlets reported Friday that Israel and the Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah had agreed to a ceasefire, despite continued military activity on both sides and no formal confirmation from either party.
The reports were published by Israeli outlets Haaretz, Ynet and The Times of Israel, citing a senior Israeli official. US media, including CNN and CBS, also reported the development, citing official sources.
According to the Israeli official, the ceasefire would remain in force unless Hezbollah attacks Israel.
«If Hezbollah attacks, Israel will respond. We will continue to thwart threats against Israel,» the official was quoted as saying by Haaretz.
But fighting continues
