Amazon could sell its custom AI chips to other companies in a bid to challenge Nvidia’s dominance of the AI data center market.

Pete DeSantis, head of AI at the cloud and ecommerce giant, told Bloomberg that it was in discussions with potential customers.

"We view AI infrastructure as rapidly evolving," DeSantis said. "And we're constantly looking at ways to get to more customers."

The Amazon Trainium3, the company’s latest AI hardware, is currently only available via its cloud platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
