An exhibition to highlight the salient features of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam was held near Gandhi Thidal on Friday.Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan inaugurated the event in the presence of legislators, Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan and Director General of Police Shalini Singh. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy later visited the exhibition.In July 2024, the Central government replaced the country’s colonial era Indian Penal Code with the three new criminal laws. The exhibition was held as part of the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government in the last 12 years, an official release here said.The exhibition highlighted people-centric features of the new laws, provision for Zero FIR, enhanced protection for women and children and provision relating to technology and forensics.
