MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday raised no objections to Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero potentially returning as presiding officer of the impeachment court that will try the case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
Escudero faced sharp criticism during the 2025 impeachment proceedings for allegedly delaying the trial over several months.

“I don’t think that reflects in any way on what – how he will do,” Marcos said in an interview with reporters in Kazan, Russia.
