Solestra Group and Jeh Aerospace, both U.S. headquartered entities with a focus on aerospace and defence industries, have announced a multi-year, multi-million-dollar agreement and inaugurated a dedicated global manufacturing centre (GMC) for Solestra at Jeh’s Hyderabad facility.“The GMC expands our ability to support new product introduction, increase capacity, speed industrialisation and deliver competitive solutions while maintaining a single point of accountability,” Solestra Group CEO Joe DeMartino said in a release announcing the agreement.Besides strengthening Solestra’s ability to support larger and more complex programmes, the facility will enable the Group’s North American operations to focus on advanced manufacturing, assembly and customer engagement, he said. Solestra is a manufacturing solutions provider catering to aerospace, defence and high-precision industries. The GMC is not subcontracting, it is a dedicated shop floor — machines, space, and workforce aligned exclusively to customer’s programmes, standards and quality systems, operating as a true extension of customer’s own sites. Customers gain expanded capacity, faster industrialisation and cost advantage with full digital-thread transparency, rigorous IP protection, and a single point of accountability, Jeh said. The facility incorporates several benefits while eliminating many of the traditional complexities thereby giving customers benefit of a joint venture in India without the governance, ownership and exit burden of one. The Solestra GMC adds high-precision mechanical systems to Jeh’s aero-engine and aerostructure capability.Founder and CEO of Jeh Aerospace Vishal Sanghavi said it the first model of its kind offering every benefit of an India JV without the burden of one.
