With the publication of the report, Migros Bank reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability and climate action. According to a statement released on Friday, the bank’s efforts focus on reducing environmental impacts and preventing sustainability-related risks.
Climate protection remains a key priority. The bank has developed a comprehensive climate strategy with measurable targets for its most important business areas.
«By promoting the financial literacy of our clients and reducing carbon emissions in our mortgage and investment businesses, we are making an important contribution to a sustainable future,» said Chief Executive Officer Manuel Kunzelmann.
As part of the Migros Group’s net-zero target for 2050, Migros Bank has defined interim targets for its mortgage and investment activities. These are the areas where the bank can have the greatest impact on the climate. In particular, it aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from financed residential properties by 40 per cent between 2023 and 2030.
