The outgoing U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, has released a trove of declassified communications and documents alleging that former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director Dr. Anthony Fauci funded risky coronavirus research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology and later worked with intelligence officials to suppress information linking COVID-19 to a laboratory leak.
The documents, made public on Thursday, June 18, 2026, are part of what Gabbard described as a year-long declassification review conducted under President Donald Trump’s transparency directive.
