The South African Roadies Association (SARA) has reported the National Lotteries Commission (NLC) to Parliament over allegations of blatantly disregarding the Lotteries Act .

The South African Roadies Association (SARA) has requested parliamentary intervention in its protracted dispute with the National Lotteries Commission (NLC).

SARA chairperson Freddie Nyathela escalated the matter by writing to Mzwandile Masina, the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Trade, Industry and Competition.

The letter accuses the NLC of blatantly disregarding the Lotteries Act and Section 195 of the Constitution, which mandates public administration to be accountable, fair, and transparent.

At the heart of the conflict are SARA's allegations that the NLC intentionally uses delayed grant-making processes and strict regulatory hurdles to withhold funds from compliant, historically disadvantaged organisations.
