Cebuana Lhuillier-backed RP Blu Girls are leaving no stone unturned as they intensify preparations for the upcoming WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, with an overseas training program in Japan forming a crucial part of their journey toward competing against the world’s best.
During a recent courtesy call with Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO and Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines (ASAPHIL) President Jean Henri Lhuillier, members of the national women’s softball team shared updates on their training plans and preparations for the prestigious international tournament.
The RP Blu Girls are set to compete in the WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup Group Stage, scheduled from July 14 to 18 in Lima, Peru. The Philippines will face a formidable field in Group C, which includes world No. 1 Japan, No. 3 Puerto Rico, Great Britain, Venezuela, and host nation Peru.
The Japan training camp is expected to provide the RP Blu Girls with valuable opportunities to sharpen their skills, strengthen team chemistry, and gain exposure to a highly competitive softball environment. Known as one of Asia’s softball powerhouses, Japan offers an ideal setting for the Philippine team to elevate its level of play ahead of the World Cup.
