As someone who currently owns 10, let me tell you, the uses for these smart plugs are limitless.
If you don’t know the drill: “smart” plugs go directly into the basic outlets in your home, turning them into tech-y “smart” outlets that you can control with the Kasa app or with your smart home device like Alexa or Google Nest.
Reviewer Eric calls it an “easy way to add remote controls to your home,” as the plugs essentially turn your smartphone into a universal remote.
How do I use them? I’m glad you asked.😊
As a plant lover, I keep a variety of houseplants under grow lights in darker corners of my home. With these plugs, I can turn the lights on and off even if I’m halfway around the world. I can put them on a schedule when I travel, but still turn that schedule off if a friend comes by to water them. I have a bedroom air purifier set to turn on one hour before my usual bedtime and to turn off in the morning, right as my living room air purifier is scheduled to turn on. Doing this with a coffee maker or fan is an absolute no-brainer, too. In the winter, I use my smart plugs for Christmas lights, and any time I travel, I like to make it appear someone is home for safety.
