He was also poised to start his 12th All-Star game, with early voting totals placing him in second place among American League outfielders.The severity of the injury is unclear, as is his ability to return before the All-Star Game. Despite a lengthy injury history over the last several seasons, Trout had only been given one off day so far in 2026. It came in April after he was hit by a pitch.In his place, the Angels called up infielder Christian Moore, the club’s 2024 first-round pick. Over 51 games at Triple A, Moore posted a 1.053 OPS.
