The government is attempting a bold reform in the organization of its urban planning offices while at the same time accelerating the completion of the land registry throughout Greece.
Both the scandal involving municipal urban planning offices and the experiences of thousands of citizens show how big the problem is and how torturous the purchase of a property or a building can become in this country.
Simplification and transparency are needed to end people’s ordeal, but also political will from the competent government officials who must finally deal seriously with these issues.
