Auckland FC coach Steve Corica is walking away from the club less than a month after leading them to an A-League Championship title in just their second season.In a statement, AFC said Corica - who joined as the A-League club's first ever head coach in 2025 - had made the "difficult decision" to leave to pursue an opportunity overseas."It has been a fantastic two years with a city, a fan group and a team that have all been way beyond my expectations," Corica said."I didn't know quite what I was getting into when I joined two years ago, but what an experience it has been."Under Corica, AFC won two major trophies; 24/25 Premiers and 25/26 Champions.AFC said Corica departs with the club's best wishes as he embarks on a new chapter in his career.Majority owner Bill Foley recruited the experienced Australian coach, who understood the A-League and knew how to win trophies."Right from the start, we wanted to set Auckland FC up with the best coach in the A-League and Steve was the obvious candidate.
